Life is but a moment,
Briefly passing by,
Ever so fleeting,
Like the blinking of an eye.
Oh, make your mark quickly man!
Lest ye fade into the dark,
Leave your face upon the rising of the sun,
With the sweet singing of the lark.
Who can say when it is time?
For no man can truely know,
So sir, take heed to what I say,
Before it be your time to go.
The Rape of the Cookie Box
On the white countertop two items sat,
A green cookie box and a tabby cat.
Miss Cat, cookie guard and Sphinx,
Sits still as time slips by in blinks.
No human may take from this guarded box,
Or else a second Pandora's Box unlock.
In this guarded treasure chest,
Is the where the holy jewel, a cookie, rests,
Slowly in Miss Cat's eyes doth seep,
The reoccurring sands of sleep.
Yet before the dawn and break of day,
A discovery and a cry of dismay!
"The cookie! The most treasured jewel!"
It has vanished from its guarded stool!"
Fingers pointed, accusations raised
Rage that even would a maelstrom amaze.
No clues, no motive, no reason
